Early Teal SeasonSaturday September 12 through Sunday September 27 This is probably some of the best early teal hunting in the continental U.S. This area (around Delaplaine, Arkansas) is chocked full of blue wing and green wing teal (maybe a couple of cinnamon straglers) in marshes, wetlands, and flooded timber that is surrounded by 100,000 's of acres of planted rice. 2008 saw about a 15% increase in birds from the previous year. We look to break that record this year again. Looks like maybe another 15 to 20% over 2008.
We hunt sunrise till about 10:30 am (before it gets hot.)
November 21st through November 29th If you heard any negative bird numbers or poor duck hunting over the last 4 years, IT DID NOT COME FROM THIS QUADRANT OF ARKANSAS. OUR FLYWAY IS 100% GOLD, DIAMOND AND PLATINUM. From our flooded timber to rice ponds to river holes to callin' & decoyin', this is Arkansas duck hunting at its best. Birds in this area include the Gadwal, Teal, Pintails, Wigeons, Mallards, Black Ducks, and a few Spoonies.
This is by far my favorite hunt in the continental US. Unlimited !! YES UNLIMITED!! goose hunting. If you have never been in a goose tornado, you need to be here in Delaplaine, Arkansas. I was in a goose tornado last February here that was far in excess of 10,000 birds right in our face all at once. It was similar to buck fever but with feathers. These birds came out of a flock of over 500,000 birds. Incredible!! Take a look, they're in the photo section. I cannot tell you any more about this hunt without using all superlatives. Just come and experience this.
